Day 3 - 'Echo, echo, echo, echo........'

Got up and took a short drive (2 hours - which seems to be a short drive at the moment!) and arrived at the Mammoth Cave Park in Kentucky. After talking to a park ranger we decided on the 'New Entrance Tour' - as it was only 2 hours long and not 4 1/2 hours like the other tours. We decended about 200+ feet underground and saw some pretty mean looking stalagtites and stalagmites inside HUGE caves - exctiting stuff!
After that we drove out of Kentucky and onto Nashville Tennessee (about a 3 hour drive). Nashville appears to be a traditional old music town with now a shed load of industry being built up around it - see the quite impressive AT & T bulding dwarfing a bar below.....

We managed to get the last room at the Holiday inn right in the middle of town and then hit the town for a few beers to soak up the yokel nightlife.
After eating some tasty wings and nachos we ended up at a bar with some cracking country music - managed to get a clip of the crazy guy singing - hilarious!

Its onto Memphis tomorrow to say hello to Elvis!

  1. Things to make you laugh....after our dinner of hot chicken wings and ultimate nachos, Arron and I were sat in a corner table of the bar finishing off our beers when a somewhat inebriated woman approached us and asked us if we were married and said we should start dancing and by the way we will have beautiful children! We found this very sweet at the time, but in retrospect, I ask you, after a few beers (and she had consumed more than a few) don't several couples look like they can have beautiful children?! Then again I reckon Big Bird and Mr Snuffleupagus prob had rotten looking kids!
