Just managing to make check-out by about 5mins we took a few deep breaths, splashed our faces with cold water and set off in the direction of San Antonio, Texas - only a 9 hour drive...........;o(
We stopped off after about and hour, re-stocked on clean boxers, ketchup and set off again. We had bought ourselves a treat each on our stop and purchase two sexy looking donuts to scoff in the car. To my absolute horror I had mistakenly picked up a donut filled with custard - which I hate. Upon finishing hers Steph showed her deepest sympathies for me and ate mine too - as quickly as possible I mght add, so I would not feel the pain of seeing it sat on the dashboard for the rest of the day - that's true love that is.
When we entered the state of Texas it hit home how big the state actually is. For the English reading this the Interstate roads are numbered from 1 upwards until it reaches the other side of the state - so the higher the number, usually the longer the road is. Most of our motorways (interstate equivalent) manage to reach 20-50 - The first exit we saw was number 836!!! We had a long way to go until we would emerge in the next state that's for sure.
We were driving all day today so not much in the way of pictures to show you all. It also rained its butt off all day - so the perhaps a couple of pics of Steph and I relaxing and drinking beer in New Orleans if the order of the day...
Me with my every growing beardage...

Steph in what appears to be an advert for an "All bright white" washing powder!

Can't believe it has only been a week today that we left Connecticut! Bon voyage - see you on Day 9 in San Antonio - only a couple of hours drive in the morning.
