Day 16 - Holywood baby, yeah!

It was nice not having to pack up the car with all our stuff this morning before we headed out- instead we could just jump in the ol Buick and head into Hollywood! Well that's if we could find it. Despite having the GPS, about 3 maps and our own hunches to go on, we still got lost! One bonus though was getting to drive up Sunset boulevard - seeing some amazing property along the way with me trying to spot any places that appeared in Beverly Hills Cop! We did drive past the Beverly Hills Hotel though - very swanky.

After driving around for ages, we ended up half giving up and just parking in a random car park in Hollywood. We then set out on foot to try and find the now elusive 'Hollywood' sign. As we left the car park we decided to ask the attendant how far we would have to walk to see this famous Hollywood sign - he said turn around (and probably muttered "bloody idiot tourists" under his breath) - and there it was behind us..................doh!

We set off down Hollywood boulevard to catch some of the sights - passing Capitol Records on the way - a pretty cool building I might add!

As you walk along the floor is lined with the famous 'stars' of movie, tv and music legends. There are thousands of them! I must admit about 90% of them I had never heard of but below are a few names we walk on that we did know...

A bit further down the road we passed to Kodak Theatre - where the Oscars are held annually.

and just up the road from that is the Chinese theatre.....

Outside the Chinese theatre is where the stars get some more sidewalk treatment and they stick their mucky paws and feet into wet cement........again below are a few we managed to get a snap of after shoving a few people out the way.

After driving through the late afternoon LA traffic and honing my aggressive driving skills some more we made it back to Matt's place, freshened up and walked over the road to "Famous Dave's" - the food was great and the interior design was hilarious!

They even had a trophy cabinet for the awards they had won for best ribs, pork etc etc - pretty impressive!

After eating we went onto a bar and drank a few too many Peroni's (plus the odd shot) - and boy does my head hurt today for it!
