Me: Good morning, we appear to have no hot water in our shower.
Lady: Oh dear, have you tried the sink?
Me: I did but the water only came up to my ankles.
This just confused the hell out of her so we ended up getting a key to another room and we showered in there.
After this false start, we stopped to get some coolant for the car and then drove into Bryce Canyon. The weather was not kind to us in the morning as it was very overcast, which made the pictures we took seem nothing like the colossal scenery that was in front of us. From a vantage point of between 8,000 and 8,300 feet we stopped off at a few different viewing spots to take some shots....

and there we are!!
We got back on the road and made our first difficult decision of the trip - we were going to skip a state. Oklahoma was at least a 2 day trip out of our way and as much as we tried to find something - there appeared to be not much there that caught out attention! So we set the GPS for Denver, Colorado and set about driving along another scenic route.
By mid-afternoon the weather has turned round completely and it was back to the blue sky's we love!
Along the way we stopped at a place called 'Spotted Wolf Canyon' - as I have said with so many other pictures shown already - the views were just stunning and striking....

Denver was a long way away so we were happy tootling down the highway towards another town in the middle of nowhere and all of a sudden "Wooooooo, Wooooooo" (that's my siren sound!) - we had a cop behind us! He pulled us over and informed Steph that she had not moved to the outside lane on the highway when he was parked on the hard shoulder speaking to someone else - also we were going 84 in a 75 zone. Despite trying our best to smarm him with charm we were not going to get away scott free - also we had wine in the trunk to protect as we were still in Utah! So poor Steph got away with a warning for the lane thing but got ticketed for speeding - bye bye $90 and hello higher insurance
So after our brush with the law we stopped in the next town for the night - it had been a long day. Luckily the motel had a pool so we went down and splashed around for a while to cool off. We are still another 4 hours away from Denver, so we will head there tomorrow and then push on towards Kansas after that.
Until tomorrow's next exciting installment.......
