Day 36 - Hello Denver, Goodbye Denver....

A bit more pampering for the car this morning as we splashed out on a $5 car wash - I know crazy spending ay! We then set out n an all day drive to cross Colorado, stopping at Denver on the way. We were also going to stop at the below town that we passed - but the name put us off - it is probably full of hooligans and nutters....

We got to Denver mid-day and it was overcast and raining its butt off - so we just sailed on straight by! We did however make a couple of pit stops near Colorado Springs and Steph snapped one shot of the terrible accommodation these people have to put up with....

Also some more clouds! Sick of these type of pics yet?!!! ;o)

We drove about 8 hours today and finished in a place called 'Goodland' just inside Kansas - this will be our only stop in Kansas as we head back out of the state tomorrow and into Nebraska to visit a town called 'Alliance' - there they have a monument called 'Carhenge' - will let you think about what that may be until tomorrows blog reveals all.

So that's about it for today! To finish off - We thought we would give you all some driving tips taken from the experiences on the road we have witnessed in the last 5 weeks - so here it is!

1 - If you need to make a phone call, even if you are at home in bed
, why not get up, jump in the car and go for a drive and then make that call! Its clearly far safer. (especially relevant in California)

2 - When you signal to move lanes on the freeway, under no circumstance should you switch the signal off once you are in the desired lane. In fact the longer you leave the signal on the better it is for other drivers sanity.

3 - If you are being overtaken (by us), make sure you speed up so it makes it more difficult to be overtaken.

4 - Once you have overtaken a car (our car), make sure you pull in and then slow down as to ensure you have to be overtaken yourself.

5 - It is illegal to drive anywhere without a crack in your windscreen. The more "shattered" your screen the better it is for general road safety.

More driving tips will no doubt come to light as we continue our journey...........bye bye for now!
