Finally making it out about mid-day - Matt was kind enough to take us to a store that specialised in products from the UK. We stocked up on Robinson's orange squash and I grabbed a few rolls of Parma Violets - yummy! That should last us until we get home - well apart from the parma violets as they have nearly gone already ;o)
Now any of you that have been on holiday with me will know what a pain in the arse I am when the resort we are staying at has mini-golf courses near by. I usually insist that we play at least once a day - or every time we pass one. One of the many things America is famous for, is their mini-golf courses, or as we know them in the UK - crazy golf. The crazy golf we have in the UK is just never crazy enough for my taste. Well today I got my first taste of a proper US style mini-golf course - all 36 holes of it - and it rocked!! Below are some shots of the course....
Steph eyes up the infamous 'Windmill' challenge - it only took her 4 shots to get it through the hatch....

Look where my ball landed when I hit it too hard! Play it where it lays Edwards.....

Matt proving local knowledge is key here - I think this one went in off the soda machine in the car park.

After the excitement of crazy mini-golf we popped down to Huttington beach for a stroll along the sea front and to get sand in our socks - it has some lovely views, especially as the sun was still blaring out from the sky above.

Another lovely view that caught our attention was someone having a photo shoot on the beach in a bikini in various poses - of course we had to stop and join in the shoot, hubba hubba!

Due to it being the easter weekend we are probably going to stay around long beach again tomorrow and head upwards towards San Fran on Sunday.
That's not a proper crazy golf windmill challenge! The sails should be long enough to sweep over the entrance. Now that's hard!

Golf looks cool - on the flies issue - leave them stuck to the car - don't forget if money gets tight it can be the meat for a sandwich.
ReplyDeleteAhhhh - that was hole number 27 Kerry ;o) - good plan on the flies Dave! I think I have enough ketchup reserves to cover that - ha ha
ReplyDeleteArron, you are a man after my own heart! I am a mini golf fanatic! When you make it back to CT we will have to face off in a couples match.
ReplyDeleteOh its on Amy!!!!
